SOCIAL COMMITTEE
Kristi Baker would like to thank all of the Springlakes residents
for making this years annual neighborhood picnic a HUGE success. There
were over 400 people in attendance. It was wonderful to see everyone
there. The canoe rides were a great success also with about 50
different canoe trips carrying approximately 100 people for an evening
on the lake.

SPRINGLAKES WEBSITE
The first phase of the Springlakes Community Association website (www.springlakes.org)
is now complete and on line. Take a look at the site and cast your
vote in the web voting poll on how you like the website. You can check
the "current results" to see how your vote falls in line
with other residents. The polling question will be changed on a
periodic basis so check back every so often. All of the Committee
Chairpersons have reviewed the website to ensure that the information
being presented is as up-to-date as possible. Much of the directory
information has been included in the website. The newsletters will now
appear on-line and past issues will also be available including
various newspaper articles about Springlakes for your interest.
There is a calendar of events page that provides residents with the
latest dates, times, and locations for all Springlakes activities.
Also, past events will be featured for those that missed out.
Each committee has its own section in the website and each
chairperson has an email address. Any committee specific
questions/suggestions/comments should be sent to the applicable
chairperson directly.
The password for the protected sections (finance and teen services)
of the website is "######" (note: the actual password does
not appear in the on-line version of this article for security reasons). This password is for use by Springlakes
residents. Periodically, we will change the password to maintain its
integrity.
There are additional website features being considered such as an
on-line secure phone directory, on-line banner advertising and an
electronic bulletin board for residents to post announcements from
anniversaries to yard sales in phase ll development of the website.
We would appreciate your suggestions to enhance this website to
meet the growing needs of our community. We look forward to hearing
from you!
Reece Bridges

PRESIDENT’S NOTE
The summer and pool season have come to a close and I have finished
my turnaround season at work! It is time to relax a bit and enjoy the
fall season, the changing of leaves and the beauty of this season in
our neighborhood. I particularly love to walk through the neighborhood
looking at the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations by
many of our homeowners. There is a lot of creativity shown by our
residents!
Take a look at our new Internet website (www.springlakes.org)! I
believe you will find it very informative and it will help us keep our
community close knit. Many thanks to Bill Phillips, PC Graphix for his
work in developing this site for the Springlakes community.
The Annual Springlakes Neighborhood party in August at the
clubhouse was a great success! Over 400 resident took part in the
activities and food. Special thanks to Kristi Baker, Social
Chairperson, for her coordination and to all of the volunteers that
made this party a great success.
The Calling Post (previously Virtual Volunteer) being used for
crime watch and calendar event notification to the residents has also
had great success!. Under the direction of Karen Lombardy, Crime Watch
Chairperson, the Calling Post is giving all Springlakes residents
timely information to maintain a safe and close knit community!
Our neighborhood continues to grow with a number of new homes
constructed this summer. We have many new residents. Make a point to
meet our new residents and welcome them to our neighborhood.
Many thanks to Barbara Plumley, our Welcoming Chairperson, for the
excellent job that is she is doing.
The Covenants committee has been very active this summer continuing
to enhance and maintain the value of our neighborhood. Much
appreciation goes for their excellent work they have done this year!
Special appreciation goes to our Association Manager, Sue Lang that
continues to be glue to keep the Association running smoothly. She has
been involved in most of the committees and activities this year and
makes the job of the president much easier.
I continue to be very proud of our neighborhood and the many
residents that contribute to make this one of the best communities in
the CSRA. Best wishes this fall season!

PLEASE DON’T FEED THE HORSES
Our neighbors who own the horse farm that backs up to Springlakes
has requested for us not to feed the horses. The horses are getting
sick from being fed too much! Remember, you can look, but please don’t
feed them.

CRIME WATCH
We are still experiencing home invasions and burglaries in Richmond
and Columbia County. Please keep your garage doors down and your doors
locked, especially when you are home. When you are not home, please
make your home appear as if it is occupied. If you see any suspicious
vehicles or persons, please notify the Columbia County Sheriff’s
office.

HALLOWEEN
Springlakes experiences a lot of foot and car traffic on Halloween
night. Please drive your golf carts and automobiles slowly and use
caution as children cross back and forth across our streets. Children
should wear something reflective on their clothing and/or carry a
flashlight. Please make sure their footwear and masks fit properly. We
encourage you to use face paint in lieu of masks as they limit vision.
Please share with your children the definition of a Halloween prank.
Please stress that pranks do not damage property. Also warn them to
only prank someone who knows them and will think their prank is funny.
Pranks that do cause property damage cause trouble with the law and
possible prosecution. Your child is at the mercy of the homeowner when
dealing with damaged property.
Residents who plan to welcome trick-or-treaters should turn their
porch lights and other outside lights on to illuminate their house and
walkways. Parents, please instruct your children to only visit houses
that are well lighted and respect the privacy of our residents who
choose not to participate in trick-or-treating. Have a Safe and Happy
Halloween!!!

A GOOD TURN FOR GOODWILL
Attention Springlakes residents! It’s time to clean out those

deliver any clothing you wish to donate to the Goodwill center. Please
have any donations in bags on your porch in sight view on Saturday,
November 18th by 9:00am. The troops will come around the neighborhood
