The Springlakes Community Pool, which opened July 4, 1983, is owned by the
Springlakes Community Association, but is separately funded.
The swimming
pool is a Junior Olympic size (25 meters long and 6 racing lanes wide). A diving
well extends to one side, and a separate wading pool is provided for small
children. The pool house has two restrooms with showers and dressing areas. There is also a spacious shade arbour and a snack bar.
The pool recently went through an extensive renovation. In 2004 the pool
house bathrooms were remodeled. In 2006 the concrete deck and wooden deck
were renovated.

Residents may enjoy and use the pool if the Springlakes’ resident has paid
their annual assessment, and an annual pool membership fee. Membership is
voluntary.
Membership fees are not included with your assessments. In 2005 the pool
started offering an “empty nest membership” for couples who are over 60(no
children, 2 member max). Non-Resident memberships also continues to be
offered. Any non-resident of Springlakes who wishes to be an Associate
membership should contact the Pool Chairperson or the Association
Manager(706-855-7987) or email
slpool@knology.net.
Springlakes residents who are not members may not be guests of the pool
members. Infractions of this rule could cause revocation of the member’s
privileges for the year. Non-member residents may use the pool during the open
house and the Association’s annual party.

The
pool is available for private parties for a small fee. You must be a member of
the pool in good standing to rent the pool. Please see the pool book for
prices and contact the Social Coordinator to schedule your party.

All Springlakes residents under the age of 19 by June 1, 2010, with
minimum swimming skills, are encouraged to join the
Springlakes Swim Team! To be competitive we need as many swimmers in the
pool as we can get. You don’t have to be an awesome swimmer to make a big
contribution. If you are 18 or younger and would like to socialize with
other kids in the neighborhood and swim, this is the place for you! Swim
meets are on Tuesday nights. There are no tryouts and you do not need to
know all your strokes. The coaches will help you.
All pool members and residents are eligible to swim on the swim team.
Swim Team Sign ups are Monday, May 3, 2010 at the clubhouse from 6:30-8:30 pm. Marianne Petras 706-855-5838.
